Staff Recognition - Teachers/Instructional Coaches

Staff Recognition - Teachers/Instructional Coaches
Teacher appreciation week was last week; however, the district wants to keep the recognition going for our Pierce educators.

Teacher appreciation week was last week; however, the district wants to keep the recognition going for our Pierce educators. Pierce teachers have been amazing over the course of the last 14 months when this COVID pandemic began. In March, April, and May of 2020, they transitioned to virtual learning without any prior training or experience in doing so. Besides learning how to navigate online without students in front of them, Pierce teachers also worked with the school staff to get necessary supplies and textbooks distributed to students to keep the learning going. In August, prior to school starting, these teachers committed to professional learning on how best to teach students through Distance Learning. School started on time and teachers began teaching. In October and November, the transition to in-person instruction began for most teachers. Teacher assignments and student assignments changed but the staff pushed on to do the best for their students. Changes continued throughout the school year to accommodate more and more students returning to in-person learning. Pierce teachers accepted these changes and continued to push through to deliver the best education possible to their students. The district values and appreciates its teachers. Thank you for always doing whatever it takes to serve our students!
