Students and Families Recognition

Students and Families Recognition
We would be remiss if we ended this school year without acknowledging the students and families who have had to endure so much over these past 14 months.

Over the course of the last 10 weeks, Pierce Joint Unified has publicly acknowledged its committed, hard-working staff that has persevered through this Covid Pandemic. We would be remiss if we ended this school year without acknowledging the students and families who have had to endure so much over these past 14 months. There were so many uncertainties throughout this entire ordeal. Students and families had their daily lives disrupted by the school closures. When schools did reopen, families again had to find ways to meet the shortened day schedules. Schools were not welcoming environments for families because of the safety guidelines required to be in place. Students had to wear masks all day and stay socially distanced from one another. Elementary students could not even play with friends outside of their own classrooms during recess. Parents were bombarded with Covid notices from the district creating questions, anxiety and wonder. There are so many more examples of hardships and obstacles that could be mentioned; however, let’s remember the positives and the fact that students in our community have been back in school, 5 days per week since mid-October and early November without any additional closures. PJUSD recognizes the effort and energy that the students and families have put forth this year. We cannot thank you enough.
