On November 18, Pierce JUSD launched the Smart Dollar financial wellness program, through Dave Ramsey, for their employees to utilize as an employee benefit. This online, digital program uses video lessons and real-world content presented by experts to inspire people to take action and make their money work for them. The program covers topics such as savings, debt elimination, budgeting, investing, purchasing a home and retirement. A student version of the program will be piloted with this year’s senior class during this spring semester. Teachers, Keryn Munson and Scott Burnum, will be the facilitators of the online course with their students. Financial wellness is important for our employees overall wellness. It is vital for our students as well as they approach adulthood and begin their financial futures.
