In January, work began on the locker room project at the main gymnasium at the high school. This gym was originally built with just one locker room that was dedicated to the boys’ gym classes and sports teams. The construction project includes adding square footage for a brand new girls’ locker room on the south-east corner of the building, and a complete gutting and restoration of the boys’ existing locker room. Classes and teams have been displaced from using the locker room while the building takes place, but when the school year begins, both boys’ and girls’ will have a brand new facility that will serve the school for generations to come. Contractors are under a tight timeline to finish the building by the start of school in August. This project is one that has been in the planning phases for many years and came to fruition due to the generous community passing Measure B Bond in 2016.
