Pierce Joint Unified this week is recognizing the work of the district office staff which includes Melanie Brackett, Executive Administrative Assistant, Tammy Minten, Payroll/Personnel Technician and Angela Dorantes, Fiscal Specialist. These three women each have roles at the district that support the work at the school site level. Examples of the type of work they do includes maintaining the student information system, preparing agendas and documents for board meetings, updating the district website, personnel hiring, payroll, processing purchase orders and accounts payable, processing intra-district and outgoing mail, and maintaining volunteer records. There was a period of time during the spring last year when they worked remotely. Since that time, they have been in the office every day interfacing with the public and staff. During the height of the school closures, the district office became the drop-off and pick-up point of items needed by families and staff. Melanie, Tammy and Angela strive each day to provide a high level of customer service to those who enter the district office doors or call in - even behind the mask and plexiglass.
